I Heart Nintendo

I am still thinking of getting the Nintendo DS Lite. For those of you who haven't heard of the Nintendo DS Lite, its Nintendo's mini-laptop styled double screen gaming baby. Remember the gameboy? And the gameboy advance? Well, Nintendo took it to the next level by introducing dual screens capable of churning out 3D graphics and decided "eh wouldn't it be sweet if we just added in another screen for fun?"

So the bastards at Nintendo have got me thinking about whether I should buy the new gameboy. Me and Eric that is.

I REALLY Heart Nintendo

At 8.30pm Eric calls me and says, "Shall we go to Serene Centre now and buy the DS?" I am thinking WTH. My brain is thinkg WTF but my heart is thinking "eh Ian which colour are we getting ar?". So totally ignoring the fact that I am in home clothes and hair looking like shit only, Eric CALLS the owner of the shop and asks him to HOLD the shop open kind, and I run out of the house, drive the car, pickup Eric, the whole time thinking WTFFFFFF.

Not say totally Starsky and Hutch meets Nintendo.

By 9.15pm, there are 2 happy nerds playing their Nintendo DS Lites in the dark. One is killing aliens and the other is trying to drive so that the 2 heroes don't actually die in real life.

At 9.30pm, I reach home and find that my Nintendo DS Lite comes with a free Nintendogs game. It wasn't supposed to be free I think but let's pretend it was. I get a choice of puppies to pick and I pick the Beagle because I've always loved beagles. I name him Toby. This is where the fun part comes.

The microphone in the system allows you to call the puppies name and it will respond! It saves the owners voice into the system so it will respond to the owner. After a few minutes of buying my puppy, he knows his name is Toby. I cannot, in words, explain to you how OMG DAMN CUTE the beagle puppy is. Just by saying "down" or "sit" aloud, Toby actually follows mmy commands. The DS is touch screen, so I can stoke him and rub his belly. By blowing into the mic, I can blow bubbles to play with Toby. 1 and a half hours into the game, I have a sore throat from calling his name out loud and blowing bubbles at him. I try and save my voice by throwing a frisbee and tennis balls instead. I will show Boons Toby when I see her in school because she may just roll over and die of cuteness attack.

I am so glad I bought the DS. Since I was a kid I've been a gameboy fan and I've grown up with all of nintendo's portable consoles, and the DS is no different.

I SO heart Toby. I mean nintendo.
